Who we are

Inspired by European design principles and the sensibility of slow living, Tactile Haus favors natural materials, muted palettes, and meaningful restraint. We design for people who crave spaces with character—homes that speak softly but resonate deeply. We call it intuitive minimalism.

Our goal is to create spaces that:

Feel lived-in and not showroom-perfect

Prioritize flow and feeling over rules or trends

Embrace texture, softness, and soul

Use fewer, more meaningful items—each chosen with intention, not obligation

Welcome imperfection, patina, and the quiet beauty of what’s been touched by time

What we do

We specialize in secondhand sourcing—Facebook marketplace and estate sale finds, vintage treasures, salvaged materials, heirloom objects—then pair them with what you already own to create interiors that feel both grounded and elevated, and most of all, one-of-a-kind.

Reimagining preloved finds is not only more meaningful, it’s more mindful. By repurposing what already exists, we discourage unnecessary consumerism and contribute to a more sustainable way of living. Reuse isn’t just practical—it’s poetic. Each object carries a history, and by bringing it into the present, we extend its story while minimizing environmental impact.

From procurement and storage to delivery and set up, we do all the work so you don’t have to! And for the design-savvy client who enjoys the process, we also offer a more flexible plan so you can bring the vision to life at your own pace.

Where we started

Jennifer Kopecky | Founder

Jennifer brings a unique and deeply personal approach to interior design. Her work is guided by a blend of intuition, creativity, and a sharp attention to detail, resulting in interiors that feel personal, lived-in, and emotionally resonant.

After college, Jennifer spent over a decade as a high school Spanish teacher, a role that nurtured her love of culture, language, and storytelling. She has also earned a degree in Culinary Arts, an experience that utilized her keen eye for detail, natural creative instincts, and meticulous organization.

Her formal design training comes from the New York Institute of Art and Design, where she completed their interior design program, and she is currently pursuing her Residential Interior Design Qualifying Certification (RIDQC) to further deepen her expertise.

Over the years, Jennifer has studied, lived, and traveled across the globe—from Europe to Latin America to Asia and beyond—gathering inspiration from the textures, traditions, and aesthetics of each place she’s encountered. These global influences are woven into every project she takes on, whether through a vintage Persian rug, a piece of European handiwork, or simply a layout that encourages slower, more intentional living.

With over 10 years of hands-on design experience, Jennifer launched Tactile Haus in 2025—a boutique studio dedicated to creating homes with history, heart, and soul. Her passion lies in transforming rooms using second-hand, vintage, and found materials resulting in spaces that feel collected, not curated; personal, not perfect.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief:  Spaces should be felt, not just seen. And every home deserves a story worth touching.
